Picture
_Nafanua Volleyball is committed to provide opportunities for junior volleyball athletes to participate in training and competitions under conditions that are safe and enjoyable. It is also the foremost motive of our program to allow athletes a chance to learn the fundamental and techniques of the sport that will be taught through quality coaching during practices and competitions. We encourage life skill values that will help athletes to make wise decision whether they are on or off the court.

All eligible juniors are given the opportunity to participate in the program. The number of teams formed will depend on the number of interested participants. Nafanua Volleyball is aware and concern about the emotion athletes goes through during the season. An attempt should be to respond to the interests and needs of the individual by encouraging the total growth and development of the athlete. Physical fitness, positive attitude and team spirit growth are all important in developing of a competitive athlete.

Winning is an important objective in sports. To not seek victory is to a dishonest competitor, but winning must not be the only objective. Parents and coaches must help athletes understand that there is more to sports than a win/loss record. Youth must be taught that success is found in striving for victory. The most important concept is that if they give their maximum effort and strive for success, there are no losers.

The philosophy of our program must be understood and practiced by all adult leaders, program directors, coaches and parents to avoid confusion, disagreements and confrontations. By understanding a common philosophy everyone can work together to meet the needs of the youth or junior involved.
